So I started writing this during the church service on Palm Sunday. That day I remember the sermon was something about not compromising to the ways of the world in order to reach out to people, but instead we should be pure and holy. I felt like some of that was directed at me. So I must tell you that this ain't a rap, but a poem as pure as it could be, because I didn't write it to a beat, but just feeding off the energy aimed at me proving that you can use this art form for God's glory. Hmm, just the few sentences above rhymed (; But check it, I finished this poem after I came home after the Good Friday service, hope it's a blessing. - Doloto Palm Sunday ptII That day as you came in into Jerusalem I was amazed to be witnessing such a...

remember driving to church that day while listening to the album I just bought; "Blooming Sounds" by Sharlok Poems. As soon as I heard the first 8 bars of the beat for "See It," I just started writing a song on the spot, or should I say on the go while I was driving...please do not try this!!! Or like the quote that Braille posted online one time: "Friends don't let friend drive and write rhymes." A side note, but totally true because it could get dangerous sometimes. So as I pulled into church and sat in my car with church just about to start, there I was already practicing what I wrote; "The way you came the same way you were able to leave your own way bringing nothing to the table..." and so on. What made me write it? Although it may seem a little prideful now that...

So I (Doloto) along with others got invited to participate in the painting of this mural. But because I only touched a spray can once, which was during our trip to Oregon, I didn't get to paint. Instead, I did what I do best, capture video of it. This will be a very experimental video that is going to be part of Chef Camer1's grafitti/music video series. So stay tuned... -D

So I had a talk with my good friend about my spiritual condition, and when he mentioned sin and how it disconnects us from the true communion with God, I told him to leave it there and that I shall proceed thinking about it when I got back home. So this is what came to my mind... Life without God is void, when living in sin is like urban decay in Detroit, like a joint being toked away; smoke that's there for a second and gone hope when I stumble upon the truth I get convicted and able to move on to get high elevated, not the way that the drug addicts demonstrate it but so that my sin will be hated by me so much that it will be vacated outta my system not through means of religion or behavioral revisions but through the grace of GOD being...

So as some might already know, Mistapool has been known to compete in Remix contests for various artists. This time around he's sonically displaying his "Mistapoolesque" signature sound in DJ Shadow with Little Dragon "Scale It Back" Remix Contest. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] It is a chillout vibe that's saturated with some of that classy hip hop freshness. So check his track out at the audio player above or HERE along with many other entries. Despite the fact that competition is tough, it's just another way to get yourself noticed, so that's why he does what he does and little by little makes contacts with people all over the place, after all, that's how we met the brother, and it's good to share more of his productive greatness. Peace!
